PICP Executive Leadership Team discuss Strategic Review and New Regional Initiatives

Following Martin Jenkins presentation on the findings of its Strategic Review undertaken in 2023, a facilitated discussion was held on the review recommendations, notably, the need for a strategic reset to ensure PICP remains flexible and responsive to its members’ needs. A Terms of Reference will now be developed, outlining the next steps for implementing recommendations.

Moreover, ELT agreed to support the implementation of the Pacific Policing Initiative to increase regional policing capability. The proposal will undergo further consultation with PICP members, to develop a model that is designed by the Pacific, for the Pacific. ELT also acknowledged the development of the NZ Police led Officer Safety Pacific Programme, designed to ensure that frontline Police across Pacific countries are trained, equipped, and supported to keep themselves and their communities safe.
