The Pacific Islands Chiefs of Police (PICP) extends its congratulations to Commissioner Matthew Varley in his new role as Commissioner of the Royal Solomon Islands Police Force (RSIPF).  In taking up his new role, Commissioner Varley will also become a member of the PICP, and the Secretariat Executive Director, Superintendent Waata Shepherd, extends a warm welcome to the Commissioner from the PICP and all of its members: “These are exciting and changing times for the RSIPF and the PICP will be on hand to offer support to Commissioner Varley in his new role”.

Additionally, Superintendent Waata Shepherd would also like to farewell and say thank you on behalf of PICP members to outgoing Commissioner Frank Prendergast, who has made a significant contribution to the PICP Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and the wider PICP membership: “We certainly appreciate what Mr Prendergast has done in the short time he has been Commissioner.  Aside from RSIPF Commissioner and PICP ELT member, Commissioner Prendergast was also chairman of the Melanesian Spearhead Group (MSG) Police Group which brought together the Police Commissioners of the Melanesian region”.

The PICP wishes Commissioner Prendergast all the very best upon his return to the Australian Federal Police.
