On 21 & 22 March 2019 the PICP Secretariat had the pleasure of hosting the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP) President, Chief Paul Cell, and IACP Deputy Executive Director, Terry Cunningham in New Zealand.  In addition to meeting with NZ Police Executive members and the Secretariat, we were also able to give our visitors an opportunity to travel to Christchurch to meet with Christchurch Police leaders and staff, and to pay their respects to the Muslim community in the wake of the terrorist attacks in that city on 15 March 2019.  Chief Cell and DED Cunningham were able to lay a wreath in front of the Al Noor Mosque on behalf of all 30,000+ IACP members.  Following the visit to the mosque, Chief Cell had the privilege to briefly meet with New Zealand Prime Minister, Jacinda Adern.

This visit also provided an opportunity to discuss and agree some tangible actions that could be taken to reinforce the growing relationship between IACP and PICP.
