Malo 'aupito to all the participants of the second Australia Pacific Security College Table Top Exercise (TTEX) for their significant and active contributions, which made it a success!
The PICP Secretariat assisted with coordinating Tonga’s part of the multi-agency TTEX, which was held virtually across four Pacific jurisdictions - Tonga, Palau, Papua New Guinea and Samoa from 7 to 9 June 2023.
The Tonga component was formally opened by Tonga Police Commissioner and Chair of PICP, Shane McLennan. Participating in the TTEX were representatives from Tonga Customs, Immigration, the Financial Intelligence Unit, Fisheries and Police. Tonga Director of Immigration Mrs Telesia Fakava Kaitapu was also present.
The TTEX is the second that the Australia Pacific Security College has conducted in partnership with the PICP, Oceania Customs Office and Pacific Immigration Development Community, with the aim to:
🔵 Strengthen law enforcement leadership and collaboration at the national and regional level;
🔵 Enhance multi-agency responses to criminal/security threats as prioritised in the Boe Declaration focusing on transnational organised crime, cyber-crime and cyber enabled crime; and
🔵 Explore money laundering and fisheries crime.
The TTEX provided a fantastic opportunity to build participants understanding of leadership and collaboration in a multi-agency context, and the important role of and requirement for analysis and risk management.Malo 'aupito Tonga#OurBluePacific#SaferTogether
